We are ignoring the fact of living a disciplined and healthy lifestyle as we rush towards the day. A healthy and disciplined lifestyle is not, which can be taken up in a day, it is the way we adapt by making right or wrong decisions every day. When you refuse to exercise you tend to skip it for a day but you eventually adopt a lazy lifestyle. Similarly goes when you make the right decisions every day you get into the right habits.

Lifestyle can be improved by improving each small thing we do every day. The mindset to do even the small things with getting importance sets you in improvement mode.

The following mentioned small habits can improve your confidence, decision-making ability, focus, reduce stress, and can help your mental and physical health and thereby improving your daily lifestyle.

1. Mindful meditation.

Throughout the hectic day and surfing our phones at night, we lack relaxation. This modern lifestyle must be accompanied by meditation to live a healthy lifestyle.

We keep thinking about work when we are on break and about break when we are at work. This happens due to a lack of mindfulness. Mindfulness meditation teaches us to be in the current moment. It helps you to focus and understand whatever thing you are doing more efficiently. It brings you awareness of each moment.

2. Morning routine

“Before working for others, get up early and work for yourself”. A fixed morning routine ensures greater productivity for rest of the day. It includes everything from getting up at the same time every day to yoga practice and a healthy breakfast.

Include a glass of hot water, lemon water, or a cup of green tea in your morning routine to ensure a great start.

3. A To-do list. Setting goals.

With this happening and changing daily, it is difficult to keep track of all things. Creating a simple to-do list in the morning or prior night can be effective to manage all things at the same time.

A To-do list gives an idea about how your day should be planned and helps in time management. It definitely reduced the chances to miss something. And also gives you some sort of relief when you check the box.

4. Read Book or Listen to a Podcast

It is necessary to keep learning some or other things each day. It helps you stay in learning mode and better adaptions to various situations we face.

Reading lifestyle books or autobiographies of great people, helps you develop those qualities. It’s not always about learning, you can also read some novel or listen to a funny podcast. The point is we need to consume little content for emotional well-being and relaxation every day.

5. Journaling

Record your daily achievements along with the short notes. Same with your shortcomings. We keep facing different situations every day and learn new perspectives. Once we record those things we can always revisit and learn some things from them.

Journal can be like your feedback for the day, things you learned, or a simple gratitude journal.

6. Speak with your friends, family, or strangers

Speaking with friends and family is a simple exercise of relaxation. The feeling of belonging to someone, the feeling of being loved keeps you emotionally and mentally fit.

We have been advised not to speak to strangers as kids. But as an adult, we need to speak to strangers to get various perspectives and ideas, or who knows you can be best friends someday.

7. Healthy Diet.

Keep a check on the things you eat throughout the day. Avoid eating junk foods and drinking carbonated sodas. Either try to include a small tiffin of salads along with lunch. Or include a handful of various dry fruits as a midday snack. Instead of packed wafers opt for tasty and healthy options like maybe pumpkin seeds.

8. Get fresh Air.

We often start and end our day in those four walls sitting in the same room. You need to Get off the chair and get outside. It helps relax stress on the eyes and overall body.

Getting to run or a small walk in the evening helps you adopt a better lifestyle. Cut off the screen time and spend some time with yourself.

9. Get 8 to 9 hours of sleep.

A study says on average a sleeps only 6 to 7 hours every day. It seems fine for now, but over the long term, it can affect you in various different ways.

Stealing time from sleep today is easy, but you have to pay its price tomorrow. So make a schedule such that you can keep a minimum of 8 hours of sleep in it.

10. Discipline

All the above-mentioned habits cannot be taken up in a day. You need to be disciplined and consistent for a period to actually see the results.

Consistency is the key to success and to be consistent you need discipline. You need to get control over your emotions and get out of your comfort zone.
